Our paper is unbleached, organic and enhances the smoking experience by letting the flowers take the center stage. Its clean white ash denotes the absence of impurities and chemicals. Once lit, it stays lit. The hand selected hemp fibers are chosen for their length and thinness. The result is a paper that burns evenly, steadily and slowly. Our hemp field lies in the French Champagne region, surrounded by the finest vineyards. Our farmers cultivate our non-GMO seeds under vigilant scrutiny, checking the land daily for airborne debris and contaminants. Utilizing biodiversity and traditional farming methods, their practices are at the forefront of sustainability and ecological protection. No trees are cut down in the production of our paper.
Our hemp crop is converted into paper in the south of France. There, it is watermarked and produced by JOB de Jean Bardou, the world’s most respected manufacturer of smoking papers since 1838.
Each rolling paper booklet contains 32 sheets of our watermarked hemp paper. They are dispensed using the “interleaving” method, by which each sheet is folded, linking to the next. Each sheet is the traditional King Size, 98 mm x 53 mm.
Cones require no skill to use, simply pack with flowers and light. Each cone is individually hand-formed in France. The wood tamper serves both to protect the cone’s delicate form during transport and as a tool for filling and packing.
The gumline is created from Arabic gum; a natural adhesive sustainably extracted from the acacia tree. It is meticulous applied to the edge of our papers to ensure the reliability of the stick and prevent unraveling during consumption.
Our fully biodegradable unbleached paper tips (commonly referred to as “crutches” or “filters”) are printed with the Devambez monogram using food-safe vegetable inks. Tips perform the structural and aesthetic purpose of creating a pleasant point of contact for the lips, as well as keeping flower from entering the mouth. The use of tips is a personal choice, they are not necessary for rolling.
